Actions that prove love to a child

Every child needs love, attention and time that parents will spend with him. You must help your children feel safe and strengthen their self-confidence. So you will make a great contribution to his future.

The child is most affected by the habits and rituals that are accepted in your family. Even on days when you are very busy, you can show your child that you care about him.

To ensure that your child always feels valuable and loved, follow these guidelines.

1. Be careful. When a child wants to talk to you, listen to him. Set aside all affairs and maintain eye contact with him. Show him that you are interested in what he is telling you – is it about insects, a movie that you’ve watched many times, or something else. If you cannot immediately quit your activity, tell your child about it and return to the conversation as soon as you have free time and you can pay attention to it.

2. Show your child affection. Hug and kiss him regularly. Physical contact helps you get close emotionally. Psychological studies show that parents’ affection for children helps them communicate better and increase children’s self-esteem. These children are less likely to experience psychological and behavioral problems.

3. Sincerely praise the child. When it comes to praise, quality is more important than quantity. Tell the child that you are proud of what he is trying, regardless of the result. The point is not to praise the child for everything that he does, but in those cases when he tries something new for himself or works hard to achieve the goal.

4. Ask your child for help. Get support from your child in household chores. You can ask the child to set the dining table, take out the trash or take a walk with the dog. Tell your child how much you value helping him around the house. Give your child the opportunity to teach you something, for example, explain an incomprehensible word or show how to use some application on the phone. Do not forget to thank the child for this.

5. Walk with your child. Take time to take a walk with your child. Perhaps your child will be gathering for a long time, and the walk will take you a lot of time, but believe me – the time you spend with him, and conversations are worth it.

6. Create rituals before going to bed. The time when you put your baby to bed is an ideal opportunity to strengthen your emotional bond with him. Hug the child and read books to him. Compose stories with your child based on events that happened to him. Tell each other about the moments of the past day for which you are grateful.

7. Have dinner with the whole family. Studies by psychologists have shown that regular family dinners have a good effect on the physical, mental and emotional spheres of the child. Family dinners are an opportunity to spend quality time with your family. Make it a rule that no one takes mobile phones and other electronic devices at the table. So no one will be distracted during dinner. The child will feel important and valuable when he sees that his parents are sincerely interested in how his day went and they themselves share their impressions of the past day.

Activities that will make your child feel special

Pre-designed surprises and occasional treats help the child feel important. There are many ways to make your child’s day more joyful. And it does not require you a lot of money.

To do this, use the following methods:

1. Write letters to the child. Today, ordinary paper letters are so rare that anyone who receives them can feel special. Write a letter to the child and send him by mail. Sign him a card “just like that.” Believe me – a child will never forget this.

2. Plan your walks. Walking around the city will not only help you better spend time with your family, but also teach the child what he is not taught in school. Go to the local museum with your child. On the way home, discuss with him what you saw. Take it to the library. Invite him to select some books. Read them the same day before going to bed.

3. Celebrate the holidays. Establish family traditions: Celebrate the birthdays of all family members, the New Year and other important dates for your family. Even small family rituals, such as the tradition of baking a pie together on weekends, can leave pleasant memories for a child for many years.

If a child feels important and valuable with his family, then in the future he can become a happy and responsible adult. Appreciate the time you spend with your child and create memories that you will remember with warmth over the years.
